The End Effector Evolver is a browser-based tool for designing 3D-printable connectors between a robot’s flange and the user’s own CAD part.  The tool runs entirely on the user’s computer. There is no server and nothing is uploaded, so designs stay private. It is built with plain web technology and works in any modern browser.

The work is organised into five tabs, shown to the user as Robot side, Tool, Preparation, Generation and Export. Generation is either “Voxel” or “Bridge”. The “Voxel” mode uses SIMP (Solid Isotropic Material with Penalization), a topology optimisation method that removes material where it carries little load, then adds a clearance step and a refinement pass. The “Bridge” mode builds a solid wrap around the two parts, which is faster and gives an immediate result. Both modes produce closed meshes that pass a manifold check before export.

The project is free software under the GNU GPL v3.0 or later, so anyone can use, study, change or share it under the same terms.
